Manchester City moved to the top of the Premier League standings with a dominant win over Bournemouth.
City cruised to a 6-1 victory over Bournemouth in the 11th round of the 2023-24 Premier League season at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England, on Friday morning (ET). City’s Dokou led the way with a goal and four assists in the win. Holland started and played the first 45 minutes of the game before being substituted as the scoring drought continued.
The win over Bournemouth improved City’s record to 9-2-2 (27 points) and moved them to the top of the Premier League table, ahead of Tottenham (26 points), who have yet to play 11 rounds. Spurs host Chelsea on Sept. 7 for the 11th round of the 2023-24 Premier League season.

Foden continued his goal-scoring streak in the 19th minute of the second half with his fourth goal of the season. Foden split the Bournemouth goal with a left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area following an assist from Doku.
Bournemouth pulled a goal back in the 29th minute through Sinistera. Sinistera got behind the City defense with a pass from Aarons and rattled the City net with a right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area.
City scored their fifth goal of the game in the 38th minute when Bernardo Silva found the back of the net. Bernardo Silva broke through the back of the defense with a penetrating pass from Dokou on the break, and after penetrating the right side of the penalty area, he split the Bournemouth goal with a left-footed roving shot.
City didn’t stop scoring in the second half as Ake scored his sixth goal of the season in the 43rd minute. Ake rattled the Bournemouth net with a diving header from Bove’s cross on the right side of the penalty area, and the game ended with a resounding victory for City.
