It could happen. BVM Sports reported on Tuesday that “San Diego Padres third base coach Matt Williams is likely to follow manager Bob Melvin to the San Francisco Giants. Padres assistant manager Ryan Christensen is also likely to join the Giants on Melvin’s staff.”
Coach Matt Williams is a legendary third baseman in Major League Baseball. He joined San Francisco in 1987 and played for the Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks until 2003. In 1866 career games, he batted .268 with 1878 hits in 7000 at-bats, 378 home runs, 1218 RBIs, and an OPS of .805.
