Tunisia head coach Jalel Khadri is impressed with the quality of the South Korean national team as they take on Klinsmann’s men.
Tunisia, ranked 29th by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), will take on South Korea, ranked 26th, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in a friendly match for the Hana Bank Invitational Soccer Team.먹튀검증
“I am very happy to come to Korea,” Khadri said at the official press conference held a day before the match. “It was difficult because of the long way and the big time difference, but the hotel and facilities are all good, so I think we will be able to play in optimal condition.”
Tunisia failed to reach the round of 16 at the last FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022. Drawn in a group with France, Australia, and Denmark, the Tunisians failed to make it past the group stage with one win, one draw, and one loss. This was especially disappointing as South Korea, Poland, and Spain all advanced to the tournament.
Despite the group stage exit, Tunisia showed promise. They proved their competitiveness with a win over France. Tunisia became the only team to defeat France during the tournament, as France’s penalty shootout loss in the final was officially recorded as a draw.
“They reached the round of 16 at the World Cup,” Qadri said of South Korea, “and they could have reached the quarterfinals and even the semifinals, but we all know that Brazil (against South Korea) is not an easy opponent.”
“They’ve had a lot of changes since the World Cup, including a new coach,” he said, “and I think they’ve shown improvement in a short time with the new coach.” “They will need more time, but the arrival of Jürgen Klinsmann will be a big boost.”
Tunisia are on a roll. In their six games since the World Cup, they have won four, drawn one and lost one. They are currently unbeaten in three games, including two straight wins. Their offensive and defensive balance is impressive, with seven goals scored and two conceded during their unbeaten run. They are also ahead of South Korea in the head-to-head series with one win and one draw.
Qadri is wary ahead of the match against South Korea. “They are a very fast team with a lot of possession and a lot of speed,” he said. “They have a lot of good individual players and they play well as a team.” “They have a lot of players who play for big European clubs, so even though it’s an Asian country, it feels like a European country,” he said.
“Korea has one of the best strikers in the world, Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur), but they are particularly strong as a team,” he said. “We have a lot of fast and individual players in the offensive line, but we will stop them as a team,” he said.
Defender Ali Abdi (SM Khang), who represented the team, said, “I don’t know all the names of the Korean players, but I’ve seen them on the video,” adding, “We have to stop the whole team and we’ve prepared well.”
