Kim Yeon-gyeon gave OH a libero uniform, but… “A willingness to learn rather than pride”

Hyundai Construction Libero Kim Yeon-gyeon (30, 164cm) in the women’s professional volleyball team shared her thoughts on returning to the national team.

Kim Yeon-gyeon will wear her Taegeuk mark and compete in the 2023 Asian Women’s Volleyball Championships, which will be held in Nakhon Lachisama, Thailand from the 30th to the 6th of next month. Since the last 6 days, she has been in Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, she is sweating ahead of the competition.

In the 2023 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Volleyball Nations League (VNL) held in June, Moon Jeong-won (Korea Expressway Corporation) and Shin Yeon-kyung (IBK Industrial Bank) wore libero uniforms. Kim Yeon-gyeon was unable to join in the aftermath of her ankle injury suffered at the end of her last 2022-2023 season.

Kim Yeon-gyeon, who returned to her national team after a long absence, looked full of excitement on her face. In an interview before the public training held at the athlete’s village on the 17th, he said, “My physical condition has improved a lot now. I am trying to improve my condition as much as possible.” It’s hard and burdensome, but I’m trying to prepare well.”

As it is an international competition, the importance of her defense is great. Regarding this, Yeongyeon Kim said, “There are a lot of strong players, so it’s a burden,” but she gritted her teeth, saying, “Anyway, I need to get connected to connect, and the players can attack, so I’ll do my best.”

What does coach Cesar Hernandez ask for from Kim Yeon-gyeon? “You tell the libero to touch the ball more,” Kim Yeon-gyeon explained. “I think she wants to defend more range.”먹튀검증

Due to poor physical condition, he could not participate in the VNL. Still, he must have hurt his pride by giving the libero uniform to Moon Jung-won, an outside hitter.

However, Kim Yeon-gyeon nodded, saying, “Rather than hurting my self-esteem, it was a time when I couldn’t take care of myself.” He added, “I’m still learning a lot while training together.”

In the VNL, where Kim Yeon-gyeon did not participate, the national team was humiliated by losing all 12 matches. Kim Yeon-gyeon, who watched the tournament, said, “The players have changed a lot, so it took time to prepare, and it must have been a lot of pressure.”

Last season, Kim Yeon-gyeon participated in 28 games (103 sets) and ranked 1st in the dig (5.65 per set) and 4th overall in defense (7.50 per set), displaying an active performance worthy of a top-class libero. After wearing the Taegeuk mark again, attention is focused on whether Kim Yeon-gyeon will lead the national team to rebound at the Asian Championships.
